The 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command is a South Carolina National Guard unit that provides command and control of Army air defense units and plans, integrates and executes Army air defense activities for joint air operations in the U.S. THE 263RD ARMY AIR AND MISSILE DEFENSE COMMAND The task force headquarters is an element of the 46th Military Police Command, an Army National Guard formation located in Lansing, Michigan. Task Force 46 is a deployable National Guard element that, when activated, provides command and control of military response forces in support of civilian responders to manage catastrophic chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) incidents. The task force headquarters is an element of the 76th Operational Response Command, an Army Reserve formation located in Salt Lake City, Utah. ![]() Task Force 76 is a deployable reserve component element that, when activated, provides command and control of military response forces in support of civilian responders to manage catastrophic chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) incidents. The task force, located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, is comprised of active and reserve component service members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps as well as Department of the Air Force civilian and contract personnel. Joint Task Force Civil Support is the nation’s only standing joint task force existing to command and control DoD forces deployed in support of civilian responders to manage catastrophic chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incidents. When activated, they work with Defense Coordinating Elements to coordinate with state and National Guard authorities, keep the Defense Coordinating Officer and Element information about state response efforts, advise civil authorities on Army capabilities and facilitate coordination between civilian consequence managers and DoD for contingency operations in the U.S. They are trained in emergency management and civil support operations. These officers and NCOs are located in each state with an additional team at the FEMA region level. The Army’s Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officers are senior reserve component officers and noncommissioned officers assigned to the 76th Operational Readiness Command. Army North manages the Army’s Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer program. The elements serve as the Secretary of Defense's representatives to plan and coordinate federal military support requested in accordance with the National Response Framework. The task force may serve in various roles, including a situational awareness or assessment team, a liaison element or, with augmentation from other services, a deployable joint command post.ĭefense Coordinating Elements are co-located with the Federal Emergency Management Agency in 10 regions throughout the United States. Task Force 51 is a scalable, deployable command post that provides mission command options for routine and contingency operations in the U.S. The Activity also supports training of allocated Defense CBRN Response Force (DCRF) and Command and Control CBRN Response (C2CRE) units, to ensure that they are ready at any time to assist local, state, federal and tribal partners in responding to a CBRN incident of the gravest magnitude. The Training Activity provides training and readiness oversite for the 54 state-based Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams (WMD-CSTs) and provides collective training and evaluation support to the 17 CBRN Enhanced Response Force Packages (CERFP), and 10 Homeland Response Forces (HRF) to ensure they are ready to respond and assist civil authorities at the local, state, and regional levels. The Civil Support Training Activity helps ensure the readiness of the nation’s military forces to respond to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive (CBRN) events.
